The U.S. Marine Corps Detachment held onto its lead in the 2019 intramural softball standings as Fort Leonard Wood teams completed the sixth week of the season July 16 and 17 at Sports Complex B.
The Marine Det. defeated the 58th Transportation Battalion 19-9 July 16 to improve its record to 7-1.
In other games July 16:
— The 35th Engineer Battalion defeated the Sappers 14-10;
— Combat Training Company beat the Noncommissioned Officer Academy 11-10;
— The 31st Engineer Battalion picked up a forfeit win.
In games played July 17:
— The 554th Engineer Battalion beat CTC 12-10;
— The 14th Military Police Brigade defeated the 31st Engr. Bn. 22-2;
— NCOA beat the Sappers 16-10.
With Week Six now in the record books, intramural teams move on to the final two weeks of the regular season. Following the Marine Det. in the standings are the 554th Engr. Bn. in second place at 6-1, CTC (6-2) in third place, the 14th MP Bde. (5-2) in fourth place and the 35th Engr. Bn. (4-3) rounding out the top five. Following those teams are NCOA (4-3), the Sappers (3-5), the 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment (3-5); the 58th Trans. Bn. (2-5), the Medical Department Activity (1-6) and the 31st Engr. Bn. (1-7).
Recreation League teams games scheduled for July 15 were postponed due to inclement weather.
