Fort Leonard Wood’s military-unit softball teams gathered July 9 and 10 at Sports Complex B to complete the fifth week of the 2019 intramural season.
On July 9, the Medical Department Activity overcame an early lead by the 31st Engineer Battalion, which scored four runs in the top of the first inning. The MEDDAC players came back in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, then added three more runs for a 7-4 lead.
MEDDAC would go on to add seven more runs to earn a 14-5 victory.

— The Sappers beat the 58th Transportation Battalion 9-6;
— The Sappers defeated MEDDAC 16-1;
— The 14th Military Police Brigade beat the Noncommissioned Officer Academy 21-7.
In games played July 10:
— Combat Training Company defeated the 35th Engineer Battalion 13-2;
— The U.S. Marine Corps Detachment beat the Sappers 23-12;
— The 554th Engineer Battalion defeated the 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 23-14;
— The 58th Trans. Bn. picked up a forfeit win.
With only three weeks remaining in the season, the Marine Det. is in first place in the standings with a season record of 6-1. They are followed by the 554th Engr. Bn. and CTC (both at 5-1), the 14th MP Bde. (4-2), the 35th Engr. Bn. (3-3), the Sappers (3-3), the 2-10th Inf. Bn. (4-5), NCOA (2-3), the 58th Trans. Bn. (2-4), MEDDAC (1-6) and the 31st Engr. Bn. (0-6).
Recreation League teams had the week off but are scheduled to resume play on Monday.
