Fort Leonard Wood’s next Transition Summit is scheduled for April 26 and 27. This event is mandatory for service members who are currently transitioning or will transition from the military within the next 24 months and is also suggested for their spouses.
This summit is also open to all service members, veterans and individuals eligible for transition assistance. The goal of the transition summit is to facilitate and provide networking opportunities for job seekers.
The Truman Education Center understands that for some service members and spouses, education is part of their transition. Taking the time to analyze and think about your school choices can greatly improve your chances of success in your academic journey and employment. Service members, veterans and spouses interested in continuing or starting their education, will be able to get in touch with multiple higher education institutions.
The schools attending the summit are Mizzou Online, University of Tulsa, Ozarks Technical Community College, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Missouri State, Liberty University, Columbia College, Webster University, Sonoran Desert Institute, Central Texas College and American InterContinental University.
We encourage service members, veterans and military spouses to attend the transition summit and take advantage of the opportunity to find out more about education programs available, improve competitive employment and connect with potential employers.
The transition summit will take place at Nutter Field House, and registration is recommended.
Early registration helps to eliminate long lines at the event and allows employers to screen potential employees.
Job seekers may register online for free prior to the event at www.hiringourheroes.org/events and sign up for a host of workshops and the hiring fair to guarantee admission. Participants are also encouraged to upload a resume.
