Sixteen military-unit teams gathered June 5 and 6 at Sports Complex B to start the 2018 intramural softball season.
In games played June 5:
— The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School defeated Combat Training Company, 14-6;
— The U.S. Marine Corps Detachment beat the 58th Transportation Battalion, 18-5;
— The 1st Battalion, 48th Infantry Regiment, defeated the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, 13-3;
— The 94th Engineer Company beat Company B, 554th Engineer Battalion, 10-8;
— The 14th Military Police Brigade picked up a forfeit win;
— Company A, 554th Engineer Battalion beat the 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 19-5.
In games played June 6:
— The Medical Department Activity beat the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, 5-4;
— The 94th Engineer Company defeated CTC, 17-1;
— The 58th Trans. Bn. beat Co. B., 554th Engr. Bn., 16-10;
— The Marine Det. defeated the 14th MP Bde., 22-14;
— The 252nd Military Police Company, 180th Military Police Detachment, beat the 1-48th Inf. Bn., 12-9;
— Co. A, 554th Engr. Bn. defeated CBRN, 30-1.
The nine-week intramural softball season will continue with games played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. now through Aug. 9.
The start of the intramural season followed games in the 2018 Recreation League, which began June. 4. In those games:
— Not Forgotten beat the Tank Automotive and Armaments Command, 14-10;
— Black Horse defeated Child and Youth Services, 13-6;
— CTC beat the 50th Engineer Company, 22-19.
Rec League action will continue with games played at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Mondays now through Aug. 6.
