By Chaplain (Capt.) Jose Rondon
Special to GUIDON
For 244 years, even before the foundation of our nation, our Soldiers demonstrated discipline in the daily tasks, expectations and responsibilities to defend the citizens of this most blessed land anytime, anywhere and by all means.
Our strength rests in disciplined formations which understand, at all times, we exist to fulfill whatever mission is set before us for the good of the Army, and the enduring prosperity, freedom and happiness of our fellow Americans.
For us, everything starts early in the morning. On a daily basis, we all condition our bodies to stay strong, resilient, and ready to be second-to-none. The most awesome part of it all is that we get paid to stay in shape.
We are a family of brothers and sisters who see our irrevocable and sacred commitment to fulfill our seven Army values: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage.
We do not back down to opposition, but rather stay calm and focused to achieve victory always with the confidence that we have given our best on a daily basis to become the best warriors the world has ever seen.
We deeply understand that together we are Army strong.
Therefore, we face our fears, confusions, disappointments and challenges with the conviction we are not alone. There is always a comrade there for us as we are there for them.
Our leaders show us how to follow and how to lead through a contagious motivation, a clear purpose in mind and an indefatigable posture of excelling in everything we aim to accomplish.
The Army legacy and existence will continue for hundreds of years to come.
We will remain together and moving forward in accomplishing the sole purpose for which we do everything, which is, “to deploy, fight, and win our nation’s wars.”
This we’ll defend, till the end.
