A Waynesville 8-and-under football team has remained undefeated since starting their season, recently qualifying for a national-level championship game.
The Showtime Tigers, who play in the Championship Youth Football League based in Springfield, Missouri, began practices in July in St. Robert. Since playing their first game Oct. 6, they have won eight consecutive games, averaging 25 points per game while often holding their opponents scoreless. The defense has allowed only three touchdowns since the beginning of the season.
Their most recent contest was the I-44 Showdown Championship, held Nov. 18 in Miami, Oklahoma, where they claimed a 19-0 victory. With that win, the team has qualified for a national-level game, which will be played in December in Ohio.
